Overview

This weekend has a great walking programme, with stunning valleys, dramatic hills and pretty coastal views; everything you would expect from North Wales.

Each day there will be a walk followed by the opportunity to spend time looking around the local area.

The walks are easy to moderate, as they will have more gradients than usual with Steve, which gives North Wales its dramatic scenery! But, as ever, we will take our time and admire the stunning scenery.

There is also plenty to do in Llandudno and the surrounding area if you want a social weekend or want to mix and match the walking with social / touristy stuff. The historic 13th century walled town of Conwy with its suspension bridge built by Thomas Telford in 1826, now looked after by the National Trust and of course it’s lovely Castle. Llandudno’s Great Orme with its many attractions including a cable car, mines a pub and café. Llandudno has a great pier and the usual array of seaside shops, cafes and pubs.

The weekend is achievable without using your car as everything is accessible using public transport.

Accommodation There are many hotels in Llandudno from budget to more upmarket. We can source the one for your needs and budget.

The Detail

Variations:

  • A Sample three day walking programme
  • There are many walks in the area and this is the provisional walking programme.
  • Sychnant Pass, Conwy Mountain and Conwy This is a delightful walk with varied and fantastic views. We get the bus to Dwygyfylchi and initially walk up and through Sychnant Pass. We then follow the North Wales Path over the Conwy Mountain (don’t worry, it isn’t that high!) and then make our way into the historic 13th century walled town of Conwy.
  • We will then have some time to explore Conwy with the option of getting the bus back to Llandudno or walking back, over the bridge and estuary, past Deganwy and then along Conwy Sands and the coast path as we make our way back to Llandudno.
  • Aber Falls This is a stunning walk starting from Abergwyngregyn. The walk initially goes through the pretty village and then follows a lovely wooded riverside path. Our route then opens out into a lovely valley. We get glimpses of Aber Falls as we approach it and then finally we arrive at them. After having a good look at the falls we make our way to the opposite side of the valley and see another great waterfall. The return slowly goes up the valley side giving some stunning views, firstly of the valley below and then of the coast. If that wasn’t enough there just happens to be a café back in the village!
  • Great Orme For the last day we will head up and explore the Great Orme, one of the most famous landmarks in Llandudno. The walk will be about 5 miles but we will be exploring the many attractions on the Orme. There is even a café!
  • The social après walking Many of the hotels have their own entertainment we can provide a programme of evening events
